Hey Moian,
Read time: 5 minutes.
The Moicap
Today marks the end of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but our deals and content will keep coming! =)
The goal is to pick one aspect I need to improve on each week and work it as if it were a Sprint.
This Week, I will focus on my writing to refine how I communicate daily with you while improving the descriptions of the items I have listed on the store.
I did want to schedule a little lesson on marketing, but I felt if I improved my writing, then when it comes to improving my marketing skills, it should be all that much easier.
For those new to the blog, the Moicap section comes into play. This gives me a place to talk freely about what’s going on in my life, store deals, and whatever else my AI Assistant didn’t research for the daily Highlights. That way, I can maintain the Human element and my role as the author, unlike our first highlight today.
Today’s Highlights
Decoded: Sports Illustrated faces scrutiny for allegedly using fake AI authors to publish articles, raising ethical concerns in journalism. Are they the first to do it, or are they the first to get caught? I don’t have an issue with an AI writer if the reader knows that AI wrote what they are reading.
Key points:
Sports Illustrated was accused of using AI-generated fake authors.
Raises questions about the ethical use of AI in journalism.
The incident highlights the need for transparency in AI-generated content.
Decoded: A critical bug in Google Drive for Desktop results in users losing months of files, highlighting the importance of data backup and software reliability. Google Bard must have misplaced them while training, but on a serious note, this isn’t good. I wonder how long some of that data will remain missing, and as a Google Drive user, I hope none of my Programming Resources have gone missing =/
Key points:
Google Drive for Desktop users reports missing files over several months.
Google is investigating the issue, emphasizing the need for reliable cloud storage solutions.
The incident underscores the importance of regular data backups.
Decoded: A significant step towards global AI safety standards, this pact aims to ensure AI systems are designed with security and public safety in mind. I can see their concerns with AI and Tech companies growing stronger and stronger by the day. Significantly, Giants such as Facebook and X can influence the policies and relationships between countries. Fingers crossed, they don’t halt public development to use AI against us.
Key points:
International Collaboration: The United States, the United Kingdom, and 16 other countries have joined forces to create guidelines for AI safety.
Non-Binding Agreement: The 20-page document focuses on the need for AI systems to be secure by design, although it is not legally binding.
Focus on Security: The pact emphasizes monitoring AI systems for abuse, protecting data, and vetting software suppliers to prevent misuse.
